Prepping for induction?

Due to some medical issues, my OB is planning an induction at 37 weeks for me/baby. My DD was induced (unplanned) at 38+2 and my labor was 8.5 hours. DS1 was born spontaneously at 38+4 and that labor was 2.5 hours. DS2 (our m/c) was also an induction and that one was about 7.5 hours. Not too certain the last one carries much weight in the way of having a full term baby though.

Now that I know (for sure) this is the plan, what can I do to help my body prepare and become more favorable for the process?

I am facing a very similar situation. I will be doing Evening Primrose Oil internally 3x a day from 35-36wks on. And taking Labor Prep drops from 35wks along with Perineal massage. Drink Red Raspberry tea, the real stuff.

Re: Prepping for induction?

I was just induced 2 weeks ago with my little guy. What I did to prep was evening primrose oil orally starting at 36 weeks, I took 1000mg once a day then upped it to 1000mg twice a day orally at 38 weeks along with 1000mg internally before bed. I also, with guidance from the midwives I had with my DD, used homeopathic caulophyllum and cimicifuga. I started a week before I was scheduled to be induced with the 30C strength, I took 5 pellets of the caulophyllum one day then 5 pellets of the cimicifuga the next day, and continued alternating until my induction day. On the day I was being induced I took the caulophyllum and cimicifuga alternating every 20 minutes for 4 hours. My induction went really smoothly, checked into the hospital at 6pm, had cervadil placed at 9pm, and my DS was born at 5:13am! Hope that helps some and good luck with your induction!
eta! I also drank RRL tea throughout pregnancy and added in RRL capsules starting at 28 weeks.

I did EPO starting at 36 weeks. My induction the second time lasted 12 hours start to finish. My first one without EPO lasted almost 3 days. They both were planned due to my medical history but the second one ended up having to happen 2 days sooner and I was not expecting it!

My last 2 I started taking EPO at 35/34 wks. Of course those I wasn't induced with and was induced w/ my first 2. Taking EPO def would've helped w/ my inductions.
