Yeah I'm this one. My 5yo Ds3 was 44" at his checkup this Monday. My 18 month old dd who is 90% for height (and 10% for weight) is 32".

Re: Radian broke during install - is it still safe to use.

Sorry. He is a 41" two year old who spilt water on my laptop, causing the 2 key to malfunction. he'll be 3 at the end of Feb, so he's tall but not that tall. He' always been well above 99% for height, but was only 36" at 1.

Ugh, what is with these things breaking? I've read several posts on it, and ours if flopping around too...I just got it last week. I would have used it without hesitation as well (we do use ours without hesitation). I hope Diono does something about these.

This exactly.

I didn't know this was a problem with these seats. I generally hate everything about it except that it is tall enough for my kiddo. This is just one more strike against it. I wish I could just buy a Foonf and never look at it again.

You could buy a Foonf but it wouldn't last your big guy very long rear facing. It has a 43" overall height limit for rear facing.

I really don't see any of the changes in the Radian as improvements. I don't know why they didn't just leave the design when they made the name change. Booster mode is useless and those seat expander things break easily.

I just realized that about the Foonf...way too much to spend for only a year at most of rfing time. I actually wish the Britax seats were just taller. I loved our Boulevard (super easy install and harness adjusters that work properly every time.)
