Spots transaction being disputed **Final Update**

I sold a bunch of trainers on Dec 27th (shipped 28th and she received them on the 31st) that were in new and EUC. I went through and made sure all the snaps worked/were there, the elastic was fine, no stains, etc. I wake up this morning to a dispute saying a snap is missing on one trainer and 2 trainers have snaps that were hard to snap. The buyer wants the equivalant of what she paid for 2 trainers back as a refund without sending the trainers back. She has had the trainers for 3.5 weeks now and I have no clue if/how she washed them etc. From what she wrote in the dispute, she has been using them.

I have heard bad things about this person scamming on facebook but that was a while ago and I thought I would be ok (stupid me).

What should I do? Escalate to a claim with paypal as I know they were fine when I sent them?

UPDATE:

I called paypal after escalating it to a claim as they wanted more information than I had provided previously and it was confusing. I talked to a really nice lady who helped me sort everything out and she denied the claim against me. Now I just wish I could out the person so no one else had to go through what I did!

UPDATE 2:

Woke up this morning to another dispute filed by her for the same reason (I had 3 transactions with her on spots). She is mad I left her negative feedback and still asking for the money back. I called paypal and the guy wasnt as helpful today but told me to escalate to a claim and write in the box that she filed a dispute yesterday and it was decided in my favor. I'll let you know what they decide.

UPDATE 3:

Paypal decided in her favor for the second dispute but she has to return the items in order to get a refund. She has until feb 5th to add DC to show she is returning them.

FINAL UPDATE:

She didn't return the items so the case was closed this morning in my favor.

Re: Spots transaction being disputed

I would tell her no on the refund, sorry 3.5 weeks is WAY to long to have an item before complaining.

I would escalate with pp, if her e-mails say she has been using them, then she is out of luck with pp as far as I understand it.

I would go ahead and contact PP. That is far too long for her to have the items and then expect a refund. She could have destroyed them in the past 3 1/2 weeks.

I went through something very similar on here. I even called people's local police and did eventually get my money back but it took nearly seven months because I am Canadian. I completely understand your pain mamma and am so glad you spoke to someone who took the time to listen. Glad you stood your ground too.

Spots feedback is strange you can look at a sellers feedback but not a buyers. Only after you leave feedback as a seller can you see that buyer's feedback.

I would contact a mod on here. I had an issue on spots a couple years ago. The mods figured out who it was on here and the same issues happened on DS as well.
