What do felted wool diapers look like?

Sigh. Ok, so I was washing my last wool shorty yesterday (I bought 4). I thought I was getting the hang of things, but in the middle of washing them, I got distracted (my baby pitched a fit), so I wasn't paying much attention to what I was doing. I let the shorties soak overnight and they look kinda fuzzy today. Not crazy fuzzy, but they definitely look different than my other one. So, my questions are:

1. What does a felted wool diaper look like?
2. Does felting ruin the wool diaper?

Soaking should not cause felting. It's possible the yarn base just had alot of loose fibers (what causes pilling with use) that spread out while soaking. A fabric shaver will fix that problem.

For felting, you need to apply heat, moisture, and agitation at the same time. This will cause the fibers spread and latch together. Generally, felted items shrink noticeably from the original size and have lower to no stitch definition. This is more obvious with hand-knit items.

^^ Phew! THANK YOU! I Googled pictures of felted diapers, but I couldn't find anything that looked like my shorties. They do look hairy for lack of a better word.
