I've never experienced it before..and this is baby #6.
I started contractions around 2 today....coming regular enough that I thought id better clean up the house....by 4 they were intense enough that I knew I was in labor and called my birth support. I had contractions that were all almost exactly 3:45 apart lasting from 1 min to 1:30 each. After four hours I called the midwife in to see what progress we were making. Nothing. Still the same 4cm I was at our last appt. The contractions started slowing down after she checked me. She said I had a 50/50 chance of delivering tonight. But contractions are completely gone now. I had about 4hrs of regular, semi intense contractions...and about 2 more hours of less regular less intense contractions.....now nothing. I am so depressed...i thought I was meeting my little man tonight.

Re: False labor....

i've had a similar day. they started around 11 so i timed them for an hour and got to the hospital about 1:30. they are 3-5 mins apart and lasting 1-1.5 mins. they sent me back home because no cervical changes since thursday. still at 2 cm and 50%. still having contractions though. was told to come back when they get more intense or if my water breaks.

Re: False labor....

Oh that sucks! I haven't experienced anything that makes me think labor is about to start any time soon

I'm sorry
That's what happened to me this pregnancy. It happened a few times. When I was actually in labor I was in total denial because it had happened so many times.

I'm mobile.... sorry for the typos!

Re: False labor....

That totally stinks! I went to the hospital a week ago with CX every 2 minutes that were lasting 60-80 seconds a piece. Wasn't causing cervical change either and they were VERY regular. They sent me back home... It's def depressing. She said only come in if my water breaks or I can't talk through them at all. Even the nurses thought they would be delivering a baby. So frustrating. Well it can't last that much longer. My baby measures over 39 weeks so its only a matter of days for sure

Re: False labor....

When you ladies are having the contractions are they painful or are they like BH contractions? I haven't had anything but BH contractions that come and go.

Re: False labor....

I have had 2 days where I started counting because I was sure it was early labor. The first time was 2 Thursdays ago and lasted about 1.5 hr then this Tuesday it was about 36 hours. Obviously neither progressed to a baby.

It is confusing if your water hasn't broke. With DS my water broke without contractions- I didn't start getting them for about 5 hours after water broke. And then they came on gradually and I didn't really start tracking for another couple of hours.

Last night I woke up about 2 hours after I went to bed and thought my water had broke. But it was semen and EPO oil I was majorly disappointed.
