Re: Need some logical thinkers please!

I thought the same thing too this time. This pregnancy has been VERY different than my last two, so until my u/s I was convinced that I was carrying twins, even though they don't run in my family at all.

Only advice I can give you is just to relax until your u/s. Stressing over whether there are two in there or not isn't going to change anything and isn't good for you or the baby(babies). Let us know how it goes at your u/s.

That has been me too. I swore I was having twins, started showing at like 8 weeks, hungry all the time, my milk from my last baby was drying up way faster then it ever had in the past. But at 12 weeks 1 day my ultrasound showed just one sweet little very active bean in there. They did comment that baby had implanted very high in the uterus, and that was probably the cause of my larger then normal for this far along uterus.

Are your first two the same gender? I noticed several things that were night and day different with my pregnancy with my boy vs my girl. Maybe thats playing into it? Maybe since it's your third, and your body knows the routine, and its just jumping in all the way?

Someone told me that having twins skips a generation. Not sure if thats true or not

Yes it was, they literally had the ultrasound wand even with my belly button but slightly to the right of it ( my right) to be able to get the pictures they did, and even then it was difficult.

Yup, 2 girls. A lot of the stuff is just my body being an overachiever hah, my hips hurt and are spreading already, my insides moving up and digestion slowing WAY down. Other stuff is just from higher hormones than I must've had last time, the extreme gagging/ nausea and super fatigue.
Haha I know, I carry a gene for hyper-egg-drop-ism. 6 days and I'll find out!

All of the early symptoms you describe are very similar to what I've experienced with this pregnancy. I'd say between that and a family history, there's a good chance you'd have two in there. I have a home doppler and can only ever find one heartbeat but I think it's because I have one laying on top toward the front of my uterus and one kind of behind. Even my OB won't use a doppler on me because he said its very unreliable with twins. I'm 12+2 and I feel like my uterus is maybe an inch under my belly button and I'm already for sure experiencing mild BH's. Only other thing I can think of that has been very twin pregnancy specific for me is the insane amount of peeing I do. I could go every 5-10 minutes, no exaggeration. I think the extra pressure down there with most of my uterus still hanging out low/behind my pelvic bone is just smooshing my bladder flat. I've had frequent urination before in my singleton pregnancies but this is extreme.

Good luck and KUP!

I feel like you described always with all my babies but I have hypermises :-( and I've only had singletons & when I went in at seven weeks to get I.v due to the hypermises they only saw one baby. >>Hugs<<

Re: Need some logical thinkers please!

Ugh I've got the super peeing, it's exactly like later in my prior pregnancies where I'm dying to pee, and then a little comes out but if I squeeze or kinda shift around I can pee a lot and faster, so basically my uterus is weighing on my bladder quite a bit already. Twice a night, yay!

Oh yuck Natty! I don't have hypermesis, I'm fortunately able to keep food down despite the nausea, but I've read how terrible it can be! Will it wear off for you soon?
