I can order it but it's nearly 18€ in postage alone...that's nuts!

I'll just get a cheap plastic tub from the chemist that closes. Heiner can print me a label for it.

I buy 2lbs at a time And I keep it in a clear bin. It works just fine. I love instant yeast. But I still proof it because that is what I am used to doing.

I just check the price to mail from here, Janine, and it's $24. That's insane. Wouldn't the chemist have dark jars too?

So I am up, had two cuppa joe, kids all off to school in winter coats and rainboots. All the snow is likely to melt today, and hopefully it won't flood. I have a buttload of work to do since I didn't get jack done yesterday getting roped into the Monopoly Game That Would Never End. I scheduled a massage for after lunch though. I should get *something* on my "day off", LOL.

I refill my 4 oz dark jar with the 1lb bag, and keep both in the fridge because a bag will last me 6-12 months. But I do not make bread/dough/rolls as much as you guys do. I can't imagine doing the volume Janine does without buying the 1 lb bags.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday

I can't even remember the prices of yeast, I buy it so infrequently. But I seem to remember a three pack of packages is like $1.50, a jar is $5 or less, and the 1 lb bag like $9-10? Or maybe that's for two 1 lb bags. Does that sound right? You could buy the bags on amazon Jen, if you use that kind of volume.

I've got the February calendar filled out. I still need to menu plan. I have laundry coming out my ears. And my mudroom is a pit, you can hardly walk through there. Ugh. The rest of the house is actually ok, but needs the general wipedown.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday

Here the packages are $2+ and the jars $5-8 depending on the store. I got to Walmart for 3 things, yeast and the two flours I prefer, that is it. And depending on how things are going I can blow through a jar in a month easily.

I just forget to get larger quantities in ABQ when I am there. I know I can get it in bulk at the Sunflower Market there, I just forget.
