If the blue is going to be on top, you'll want a light blue. A dark one will make the room look smaller if it's on top.

Re: Please help me choose a color!

I love #1, but I agree that a dark blue will make the room smaller...we did a white chair rail/blue on top and ended up painting over it in a year, I hated it. It is now a very pale green colour and makes the space look much bigger. But, hey, paint is relatively cheap and if you don't like it, it is easy to paint over (esp. if it is just the top half of the wall)

Re: Please help me choose a color!

If you are doing all white on the bottom I would love to see 6 on top. So many people are afraid of rich dark colors because they think it will make the room look small. I love bold blues.

For 6 with white on the bottom I visualize standing on a white wooden deck at that super still time very early in the morning right before the sun comes up and it's the quietest calmest time of the time of the day so that color is very soothing to me.

It's a middle of the road color so that it will contrast nicely with both the white bottom wall and the dark furniture. The wood floors will warm up the room and keep it from looking too stark.

Re: Please help me choose a color!

I really like 5 or 1 but with white wainscoting rather than a chair rail. I don't like lots of dark colours, maybe an accent wall. I like things bright. Without the wainscoting, with all dark furniture and is the floor dark wood? I'd go with a lighter blue. When the whole room is painted the colour will look a lot darker than it does in a patch.
I also like the two bottom X'd out ones too for the whole wall.
