Re: Should I be Angry?

I think when you buy something online the onus is with the seller to get it to you.

I filed the claim with the post office, I provided proof of the breakage and what I paid for the items, and the post office sent me a check to replace the item. The hostess, although she paid for the insurance, never saw that money, nor was she the one that opened the claim.

Now, if I had paid for the insurance and she didn't buy it? Then yes, I'd have been screwed for getting a refund from USPS, but then I could just dispute it through PP, if within my 45 day window.
See, that is different than a lost package. A seller is responsible for getting the package to you. If the USPS loses it before it arrives to the buyer, the seller has to file the claim.

As far as I know, either party can claim on the insurance. HOWEVER, if a package is broken, lost, etc the buyer WILL be refunded if the seller has no proof of delivery, item as described, etc. So the seller will be out the money, if they do not purchase insurance. The buyer has PayPal protection, no matter the status of the insurance. Insurance is a seller's safeguard. If you can't afford to refund the money and be out if USPS loses it, get insurance on the item you're selling.

OP - You're far more patient than I am. I would make it a point to mention the only reason you contacted her via the group was because she had no readily available contact information. She felt the need to toss it out there for some reason, so I would to. Beyond that, even if you do receive the package, I would personally still leave negative. The constant lack of response, acting as if she replied to you to on FB and to the host, all unacceptable and deceptive. Sorry you have to deal with this mama!

Re: Should I be Angry?

Update to anyone wondering. I finally received the package yesterday.
I was disappointed. The topstitching was all crooked and uneven and puckered.

The seller agreed to refund me $10 and I would leave positive feedback but would still mention the lack of customer service.

Re: Should I be Angry?

They should BOTH have made a more concentrated effort to satisfy the complaint and you as the customer. Blame game is what it sounds like. The insurance is the seller's responsibility according to paypal. I'd leave negative. You got a product late, that was subpar quality and with poor communication.

There was nothing positive about this transaction, it sounds like from your posts. Why would you leave positive feedback?

Sounds like she basically pushed product out the door knowing it wasn't good enough so she could bribe you for positive feedback.

Oh I would be sooo upset. Leave negative feedback. Post it on their pages. Oh well.
