Re: February Spending Accountability thread

Yesterday was not cheap. dh wanted to go out for a late bfast/early lunch after ds soccer class. The total for that with tip was about $40. We always go back and forth about getting the kids one meal to split or each their own. I feel like if we get them one to split they always want more but when we get them their own they hardly eat! On the positive side since dh and I were so full we didn't need to make a big dinner and we just fed the kids what was leftover from their meals. I stopped in marshall's because I need to get dd pillows for her "big girl" bed and a sheet set. So I ended up with 4 pillows, a sheet set, and a deviled egg platter. I know the deviled egg platter was so not necessary but I've always wanted one for serving and it was on clearance. I will most likely end up returning some if not all of the pillows. two of them don't fit in the pillow shams (even though they are the same dimensions) and the other two are too thick. I'm going to see what they options are at costco today. I am going to plug in my current spending and then will update later with returns and such. I am also returning a set of socks dh got at costco.

Re: February Spending Accountability thread

I'm in and I'm really committed this month for reals! We are buying a flatscreen television this month (finally!) and are dropping FIOS and going with Hulu instead. The tv is worked into the budget, we are just waiting for a great deal on one to pop up. I still have lots of food in the food in the house too so am expecting our grocery budget to be under $250.00. I will be tracking everything minus "normal" bills.

1 - $38.00 - turbo tax software, $70.60 gas for DH, $10 Bunco night for me.
2 - $20.02 Vons (sent DH for 1 thing!) should have known better. $15.00 for razors for DH.
3 - $7.55 for lunch at Corner Bakery Cafe, $122.00 Costco groceries, $42.00 gas at Costco for my car, $11.00 at Costco for dinner.
4 - $30.00 for coffee (it's good stuff and DH and I both agree it's worth every penny! Plus it lasts us 3 months) $18.95 on scholastic book order for the kids.
5 - 0!
6 - $35 for a new tire for DH's truck, $23.55 at Target for Valentine's cards and groceries.
7 - $0!
8 - $1.08 for Papa John's pizza (we had a free large 1 topping and added an extra topping), $30.00 for groceries.
9 - $85.00 for a day trip (this included gas, admission, eating dinner out, and everything!) Plus we had our 2 nieces so it was for 6 of us. We had a great day!
10 - $9.00 for dinner fixin's (DH wanted steak and it was a great price)
11 - $72.00 for a new battery for my car (it was totally dead)
12 - $17.00 on dinner, DH worked and had meetings all day so me and the kids met him at Del Taco for a quick dinner so we could see him for a bit.
13 - $53.45 gas for my car.
14 - $4 for Starbucks (took the kids for a treat after school)

Re: February Spending Accountability thread

So after doing some returns today I've adjusted my spending in my first post. I also spend $42 on gas, and then $100 at costco, and $28 on amazon. The costco purchase today was pillows for dd and her duvet insert.
