Re: Feeling disconnected?
could definitely be PPD. I'd try to get a break.
but if you cannot, I have found that good omega3 fish oil supplements helped stabilize my mood.

Re: Feeling disconnected?
I feel like that almost every day. Getting out does nothing to help it. My mind is so cloudy. I did finally tell my DH how I was feeling. Being open about it helps me clear my thoughts. A few nights he has taken the baby and sat up in the living room so I could get some sleep. Sleep turns the intensity down on it. DH also bought me a sunlight lamp thing that I sit next to for 20 minutes a day. I also gave up coffee, which kills me because I love it so, because I read that caffeine doesn't help. I don't feel as desperate as I was maybe last month but it certainly is still a struggle.

Mine started late like that. I couldn't stand to be around my son. I wanted to be left alone and every time he cried I wanted to run.
I never got to get help, but now I am 3 years later. I feel ashamed, like a bad mom, like I don't deserve him. Counseling has helped so much though. Apparently I'm a better mom than I give myself credit for and need a community. I have no one but DH and DS. It does get better though, but some says it gets worse. Hopefully yours passes. Mine came from childhood, so it's more of a process. |

Re: Feeling disconnected?
I feel like that most days but my kids aren't babies anymore (23 months and almost 4) so I don't know what it is for me. It was almost like one day I woke up and was honestly just kind of miserable and it hasn't gone away. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning and just want to be left alone but then I feel bad for getting irritated and annoyed by my kids and husband. They are all wonderful and I just don't know why I feel like this. And I feel TERRIBLE and guilty that I do.
Have you looked into St Johns Wort? I am by no means a doctor, but I have heard of people having great success with it. I just started and so far no changes but it has been just a few days. |
