Serger help

A friend let me borrow an ancient serger. (see pic below). After threading it with tweezers & a flash light (holy crap!)

But now i am serging!

Here is what my practice runs look like. The threads are uneven. Is this a tension issue?

Looks like serious tension issues. Did you make sure the needle threads are securely in the tension discs? And in the pic, all your tension discs are set at 0. Were you sewing with them like that? They will likely need to be in the 3-4 range for starters, then fiddled with until perfect.

I believe there were all secure but I'll check. All the tension was set between 1 & 2. I'll tighten them. Thx!

Here's mine. It looks like a similar model

See if these tensions even you out. I really don't know why yours is wavy like. When mine is off it is uniformly screwed.
