Purge something already

My DH is driving me bananas. He has about 20 boxes in the basement that are full of *stuff* and I want him to go through them. He keeps telling me to mind my own business. I swear he is doing this to agrivate me. He is unemployed & plays on his phone all day! Purge 1 box. Sheesh.

This is said in a mostly joking manner. It really is none of my business. It just is bugging me because so much of my stuff is purged & his is left. I keep getting Flylady's new emails and my newsletter from HomesteadHappenings is about decluttering. Aghhhhhhh!

When I was married my husband was the same way. So I went through them since he had no idea what was in them...I found an entire box of pictures of him and his ex wife, boxes of cheap old fair stuffed animals that the mice had got into...tons of garbage and junk....so gross

Yuck, that is gross. Did you toss the stuff?

My husband would flip his lid if I purged anything of his. After 17 years I know better. It is funny you mention mice infected stuffies. DH had a big stuffed teddy he insisted on dragging to Germany with us. The mice got it too. Then I got to toss it.

He was super ticked...he even went through the trash with the stinky stuffed animals and dried shriveled up mice...but once he saw what was in there he got over it

Oh I hear you! My husband is the guy who hangs on to broken electronics for parts and still has tshirts from high school 16 years ago! It makes me nuts. And then when I mention purging he becomes super defensive. I'm not being unreasonable... He has more clothes and shoes than all the kids and I do combined! Hang in there. You're not alone!

Glad to know I'm not alone.

We have Army gear out the wazoo here, male knick knacks and BOOTS also. I have most of the house done so I shouldn't be too hard on him. I have my issues too (diaper addiction & I hate dealing with paper clutter *shriek*)
