Fav heavy wetter day time solution

Title says it. Besides wool & fitteds, what is your favorite day time solution/trick for a forceful boy pee / heavy wetter?

LOL since no one else has answered yet...
potty training.

But before that, I tried GMD workhorses; they didn't leak but they would be soaked and soggy and it was kind of gross. We went from leaking out of BGE's at 18 months, then I got a few months out of organic flips/Thirsties hemp prefolds in a Flip or Econobum before he started flooding out of those (they would bunch up and then leak). Then I tried the workhorses, which worked, but that is when I decided that if he could hold it for 3 hours and flood a diaper I may as well have him try on the potty. I was cleaning up wet pants and floors anyways.

And the rest is history. Or the end of my sanity. I forget.

ETA: I started potty training the week after he turned 2. I would say it took a good 2 weeks for 75% proficiency, 3 months for 90%, and 6 months for 100%...so he was not quick and easy like DD but if you look at the glass half full he didn't do too bad.

BGE or Simplex with a Thirsties Fab Doubler (we have both diapers' rise snaps completely unsnapped). That holds him a good 2 1/2 hours

Lofty training!!! YES!!! I told DH "we are having a lot of pee day" & ge said "you sure it isn't just 'the diapers '?" The nerve!!! Seriously though leaked twice out of a flip w flip organic. That is my bullet proof choice

Trifolded Little Lions premium PFs...they are pretty long so I folded the extra length down in the front. Hmmm, so that was (4+8+4) layers of birdseye cotton, (x2) for folding down the front (I folded down about 5-6")...32 layers of cotton birdeye directly in front of the hose

Otherwise I added a hemp doubler, folded in half, to the front and under the layers of whatever else I might have been using. Hemp Babies Bigger Weeds are nice trifolded, but I put a Thirsties fab doubler over them to assist with absorption AND b/c they are MUCH softer.

a hemp doubler folded in the front works for my son. Joey Bunz are good, but I also have AMP and Fuzzibunz and homemade 3 layer hemp fleece ones. My son needs hemp in every diaper or it's a leak for sure.

Hahaha! This had me cracking up. Im not to this point yet with DD but I remember with DS, right before he trained we were every single diaper bc he would flood them. It wasnt the diaper's fault. Lol. We did end up potty training

Im going to try not to derail this thread completely (sorry OP) but you mentioned two things I am really considering right now, workhorses and bge. I am going to sell off all my 4.0s, I am tired of pockets and want an easy diaper but I am having a hard time deciding bt these two. I have a good amount of covers so Im leaning towards workhorses. Did you find one to be more absorbant than the other? I feel like bge would be better for trips out but Im not sure?
