Could you have accidentally left a tube of chap stick in a pocket?

Do you have wood you oil with a rag? If it goes through the wash, it leave a residues. We have to run an extra hot cycle with bleach in between. So we now just toss our oil rags.

I get the same in my front loader. I use Tide- always, used in the compartment not on top of the clothes, wash the machine with bleach and occasionally tide cleaner. No crayons or anything oily going into the wash. Its only on certain clothes. But spray and wash will work get the spots out, even if its been through the drier. I would love to know the cause rather then treating the spots after the fact.

I get those sometimes, it is usually from food or something on my hands that I transfer to my clothes without knowing. Since your DH is a chef, this would be my guess. Put a drop of dish soap on each spot and scrub in with an old toothbrush, and they will come right out.

The ONLY explanation is that your husband left a stick of butter in his pants. Nothing else makes sense.

I treat grease spots with Ivory dish soap. I pre-treat the spots about 4 hours before I plan on washing. It cuts the grease and the clothes come out good as new, even if they were previously dried.

I get spots on my clothes when I am cooking something that splatters.
