Did they specifically test for Epstein Barr? The western blot version of that test is often falsely negative. It would be worth a second look at the blood work. I am really good at reading labs if you want to pm me some numbers.

My youngest did this from 8 months to about 18 months. I was taking him to the doctor to get strep swabs constantly as it made its rounds in our daycare quite frequently.

We were never able to figure it out, it just subsided on its own. He runs very high fevers (104+) so there were nights when I was frantic since we lived an hour from any hospital. The only other symptom was lethargy but he would bounce back as soon as the fever broke.

I wouldn't worry too much. I would think if there were underlying issues, there would be symptoms other than a fever that would accompany it.

I'm chalking it up to a virus this time as she's fine now...but poor DS now has a fever and a sore throat.

Dd2 did this from about 6 months to 20 months old. We think it was just viruses. Have you ever heard of Periodic Fever Syndrome?

This is what I mentioned before, with cyclical fevers. In fact, my dd has one tonight. Just a fever, her only symptom. *sigh*
