Re: Finger food ideas

Bananas, sweet potato fries (you can make your own in the oven), and avocado. Pretty much anything that can be fisted unless your little one is advanced like my 6 month old that has somehow mastered the pincher grasp.

Re: Finger food ideas

cantaloupe, steamed carrots, greenbeans, squash (roasted), black beans cooked mushy, toast, egg yolk, avocado, apples (microwave and cut like fresh fries).

My 10 month cold can eat almost anything now. He has pincer now so it's easier just to give him cut up bites versus the sticks... he had pieces of asparagus last night. yum yum

baby led was so much easier than spoonfeeding I am so happy I came across it!

Re: Finger food ideas

Thanks for the thread, I've been looking for ideas, too

We've just been starting, so we've done sweet potato (just baked it whole then cut it into sticks- and the skin peels off super easy once it's baked... seemed the easiest), steamed zucchini spears, and cucumber.

Re: Finger food ideas

Strips of pork, steak and lamb work really well for baby to gum on. They get iron from sucking the juice out of the meat. We also had great success with ground turkey or chicken meatballs. Don't be afraid to add herbs and spices, just be careful of salt.
