Vacation rental discrimination!

You know, if you had a lot of kids because of your religious beliefs you might be able to say the descriminated against you because of your religion.

Sorry, but it is true that more children &/or more pets lead to more damage. Small groups of young 20ish people also cause more damage. It is not illegal for them to request ages & you can be removed or fined if you lie in order to secure a vacation condo.

I never lied about anything. The condo sleeps 8 and says children welcome.

The manager is a realtor! This will be career altering for him.
He was rude to me and lied- not qualities I personally would look for in a realtor. I also would look up reviews and comments about a realtor before choosing them

If she hae lied she wouldn't have been refused the vacation home. Also middle age people rented my mothers home. They did a number on it.

Such a bummer! Sadly we have those types of issues where I live. I have been requesting upgrades to our unit for a long time and recently found out that they are refusing to do them because they are worried my children will "ruin" it. Umm...this place is MUCH better then it was before we moved it! We have done a ton of improvements ourselves. My friend with 5 kids two doors down gets it even worse from them

Sorry, I was in no way claiming that you lied. I know you did not state that you had. I only meant to inform that the property owner can be picky & does not need to fully disclose up front that 'child friendly' only means 2 children between the ages of 10 - 17. Or 'pet friendly' only refers to them tolerating 1 small dog & only during the off season when renters are hard to come by. Many owners change their descriptions of 'family friendly' depending on how great the market is. If they are having a hard time filling may loosen their standards. But renters must always truthfully fully disclose such information to the property owner.
