Re: Sneaking food... WWYD

Kids that age definitely know how to be sneaky. Can you put baggies or plastic bowls of dry cereal on the table for them in the morning, so they can come down and start munching if they wake up early? Or even leave them some in the bedroom, after they go to sleep? I will admit to doing that with Ava when she was about that age. She would wake up, drink some water and munch some dry cereal, while reading books or playing in her room. Got me another 20 minutes in my own bed. I also have a snack basket on the counter with things that they can eat almost anytime...boxes of raisins, pb crackers, fruit leather, granola bars, squeeze applesauce. I wouldn't be thrilled if they tore into them and ate them all at once, but at least it wouldn't be fruit snacks. Those stay hidden! Hope you find something that works.

Me too. Kids are smart. If they hadn't been sneaky, they'd have left the wrappers all over the house.

I just think it's good that they are letting dad sleep, and willing to "make" their own breakfast. There's nothing wrong with setting them up for success too.
