diarrhea in cloth?
I've been using CDs for 4 years now and this is the first time I've encountered diarrhea so I'm looking for some help here. DD made a mess of a dipe at the doc's today an it in a Ziploc. I don't dare open it to deal with it and I'm terrified of another one. Do you just suck it up and use sposies during illnesses? Or is there a better way to deal with this?

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
I got a diaper sprayer. If I didn't I might do a toilet swish.
I wouldn't switch to sposies... because then your kiddos clothes will be covered not just his diapers!

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
My son frequently gets the runs, I just swish in the toilet. Its gross but we never use disposables.
My tip: Open a window |

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
I am really lazy if it is really bad diahrrea I just toss it into the pail and do an extra rinse. I haven't had any issues with doing it this way.

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
It would be way worse with disposables, you'd probably have poo leaks galore! I would hold your breath and do a quick toilet swish and then toss in the washer, it should all come out in the wash.

Just toss it in the wash and do an extra rinse. My son had a flu about a year ago and had the runs for like 2 days straight. I was so done I bought a pack of sposies but the poop just draped out of them....yuck! At least cloth held it all inside.

I spray it off as well as I can and then just throw it in the wash. Use bleach for sure, because if it's a virus, you want to kill it off!

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
I will be the first to say, diarrhea = sposies in my house. I use pampers the sams club brand diaper and have never had a poopy leak.

Re: diarrhea in cloth?
We have been experiencing this treat for the last week and a 1/2. We also do daycare so getting to swish those lovlies after sitting in a bag all day just makes my day
here is what is helping me the most right now. I have been lining my bg pockets and fitteds with a newborn prefold. I swish/spray if necessary which is easier than trying to get all that nasty poop out of the rest of the diaper. Of course i also then rinse rest of diaper but managing the 1st layer this way limits my time over the toilet. Good luck
