Paypal echeck? What is it?

What is an echeck? Does it indicate something specific? I don't think I mind accepting one, but are there dangers?

Thanks.

Instead of using a credit card the funds are deducted from their checking account and sent via and e-check. Like PP said, they take longer to clear. I think that is the only option for those who don't have a CC back up for their account.

this, mostly. you can send from your bank account and it not be an e-check, but if there is no back up funding, it's not an instant transfer. They take about a week to clear and you can't ship til they do because you don't really have the money yet

They take awhile to clear 3-5 buisness days.

My bank account is linked and will pay automatically if I don't have pp but if i have to send a refund and there isn't enough pp (even just a few cents less) pp will take the whole amount out of my bank account with an e-check. no idea why.
