I make mine homemade but they are real easy and sooo much better then a box mix.

I just peal and slice potatos then layer potatos, ham, a bit of flour, salt, pepper and butter, repeat. Then I top off with milk. Bake at 350 for about an hour. Yummo!!

Aldi has THE BEST ham! Not too salty, I always buy my ham from there. We do probably 85% of our shopping there, and here are the things I always get:

Cream Of soups
Almond Milk (super good!)
Lactose-free milk for my son
Pulp-free OJ (light blue cap)
Block Cheese
Sliced Cheese
Yogurt, their greek yogurt is super good!
100% Juice - just like Juicey Juice
Fruit cups for my daughter's lunch
old-fashioned Oatmeal
pretzel sticks
canned olives - these are hit or miss, sometimes they are super mushy
bags of trail mix for my husband
bags of baby spinach
butter
sour cream
heavy cream
half n half
sliced sandwich meat in the plastic tubs - ham, turkey and roast beef
fresh vegetables are hit or miss
canned green beans (I use these in soups that I can)
canned corn
baby wipes
tp - cheap and no frills!
dryer sheets - their dryer sheets are actually really great and cheap!
cfl light bulbs
frozen fruit - I've made smoothies and homemade jam from their frozen strawberries, they are REALLY good
french fries or tater tots - we get these once in a while, they are good
baking goods - flour, white sugar, vegetable oil, shortening, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, powdered sugar etc
instant pudding mix
big box of raisins (my kids LOVE them as a snack)
bags of egg noodles - they are super good
box of angel hair pasta
turkey and beef gravy jars
corned beef hash - wicked good
bacon - we get the Appleton brand, its awesome!
crescent rolls - good, my kids like pigs in a blanket
all beef hot dogs
fresh pork chops - I always get my porkchops there, and the rest of my meat in bulk from BJ's

Things we DIDN'T like - frozen chicken nuggets, frozen chicken rings (BARF, my DH picked those out, SO gross), the chicken voila knock-off frozen meals (tasteless!), frozen veggies (I prefer the steaming bags and our Aldi doesn't have them), I think that's pretty much it!

I think it will just depend on your Aldi....I'm sure it's just a clearance deal until they are gone. Mine had a ton though....
