Radian RXT carseat install help, for newbie.

My baby girl is due in 2 weeks, and we need to install her carseat. With my oldest daughter we used a Graco Snugride and now she has the Smart Seat, both have levels. How do I know the right way to install the Radian with no level? We went ahead and bought the level adjuster when we got the carseat, but I'm thinking it's just to be used with older kids? Any other tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated, as well as safety reminders I may have forgotten. I'm hoping DH can get it installed today during my baby shower.

Take a square piece of paper. Fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle. This is a 45 degree "ruler". When you put the long side on the seat, it should make the top flat.

The angle adjuster is for kids over 12 months.

Okay, thanks so much! I'll show DH, he should be able to figure it out. After 12 months what angle should they be at? Does it matter?

I just installed three of these in my car. No angle adjuster for the newborn (use after 12 mo). I find the LATCH install easiest to do. Because I have 3 now, I had to install with the lap-shoulder belt. I found for my middle RF seat I had to twist the belt stalk once in order to get a tight install. I also use the top tether on my RF seats, it helps in making sure I get the angle correct and adds a little more stability. I actually don't find them hard to install. Good luck!

I think there's also an app for iphones, if you have one, that works like that.

The angle adjuster is for older babies (they recommended over one year). At that point, whatever angle is comfortable for baby is fine.
