I called ds hugaboo in the womb, before we knew gender or anything. Now we call him little turtle a lot because he makes this great turtle face...

My elder dd was either Peanut or Pumpkin, and when she got too old for those, she became Miss P. (which she wasn't thrilled with).

When little dd was born, I started calling her Peanut out of habit, but big dd didn't like her nn being reused, so I tried to think of something else that started with P. I ended up with Pip, as in Pip Squeak, and it has really stuck. She's 2 now, and we call her Pip, Miss Pip, Pippy, Pippuns, The Pipster, and even Pippity-Pip-Pip-Pippity-Poop-Poop-Pippity-Peep-Peep!

ETA: My beloved gma used to call me McGee. No idea why.

My older DD is Pumpkin, and our 8 month old DD is Tadpole...she was Tadpole in utero and will always be Tadpole. My son is Monster or Little Man.

My Dad has his own nicknames for each of them: Older DD is Princess, Younger DD is Pollywog, and my son is Little Man.

DS1 is Sir Frowns A-lot, I wish I could say it is tween angst but he has been mopey since forever (if you don't give him his way)

DS2 is Cho Cho or Chonga ~ no real reason except it rhymed with another nickname.

DS3 is Sir Screams A-lot or Fitsy J because he is the temper tantrum king at 14 mos.

Re: I need nickname ideas!

Reading these reminded me of nicknames I forgot I'd been called! My grandpa used to call me tadpole and my grandma called me mcgoo. And there was a man who owned the grocery store next to my parents restaurant when I was little who called me french fry and my brother hamburger (can't remember what he called my little sis though).

My youngest is Terror Bear so it could be worse. It is his Derby name so technically he chose it himself. We always called him Thare-bear so he just changed it to make it "scarier". The guys don't actually call him that though, they call him Melon because he wears a nutcase brand helmet that looks like a water melon. He's been their little Melon for almost a year now. They even gave him his blood so he is all official. In the past he has gone by "Dandylion Fluff" and "Ducky" but he doesn't much anymore. The only other nickname he has is Frost but that is actually his middle name.

Kearnan is Kare-bear and Kearny. We are all bears in this family. Dh skates under the derby name Papa-Bear and I get to be Mama-Bear by default.
