Struggling with stained diapers

I don't know why it bothers me so much but I am REALLY bothered by my toddler poop stained dipes. I never had issues with staining before - I either sunned them or threw a little bleach in and voila !! However, we recently got a new TL HE washer and with the winter and being unable to sun, I have A LOT of stained dipes.
I have tried soaking them with OxyClean, spraying them with Shout, threw in a 1/4 c of bleach but nothing is touching the stains. Any suggestions? Would sunning in the winter do anything (if I can find a sunny day)? Will my dipes freeze? Should I try more bleach than 1/4 c ?
And, as long as I don't put them in the dryer, will the stains still sun OK if I keep using them, washing them and air drying them until I can get them out if the sun?

Re: Struggling with stained diapers

I've had good success with sunning my diapers inside and putting the diapers in direct sunlight by the window. early morning sun works better than afternoon sun.

I wash and dry my diapers all winter long. The first good sunny day in the spring I wash all my diapers (or wet down the already clean ones) and hang them outside. All the stains usually come right out. A few stubborn ones sometimes take a 2nd day.

i usually go to my moms since she has a huge clothesline that gets full sun all day.

Re: Struggling with stained diapers

Having the same issues here. I usually make my diaper pail with water and vinegar. Then I do a short cycle with cold water and I only add baking soda. I then sanitize with a little detergent, softener and sometimes Oxyclean. I had already washed them with some bleach. Just remember, that at least for me, when I use bleach, I will wash twice so the whole bleach residue gets washed away.

I have a front loader HE washer, if that helps.

Can't wait for a good sunny day here! It's been so gloomy and I've been dying to sun my diapers even through a window!!

Also, OT, but @yukipr, I am in Joliet!

Re: Struggling with stained diapers

You can definitely still sun in the winter. A friend who lives in Alaska just showed me pics of her recently sunned diapers. You should just be careful not to bend them when they're frozen

Re: Struggling with stained diapers

If you have all natural fibers, be careful with overnight soaks. I ended up with a washing machine full of shredded diapers after soaking overnight in oxy.
