Washer/Drier Recommendations

We are finally buying a new washer and drier, and I am not sure what to get. So far I have looked at LG, Kenmore, and Samsung toploaders w/no agitator. I am also interested in a LG front loader. Is it best to stay away from front loaders when cloth diapering? I don't want to be carrying buckets of water every time I wash diapers.

Re: Washer/Drier Recommendations

I don't have any specific brand recommendations but if I were looking for a HE washer/dryer I would look for one that had an extra water setting and an extra rinse setting to make things easier for me. I know some front loaders have extra water settings so you wouldn't have to carry a bucket of water.

We bought a top-loader Speedqueen a year and a half ago and love it!

Speed Queen toploader. Commercial machine used in laundromats. All steel, no plastic. Made in USA. Last machine you will ever buy, they seriously last forever.

Re: Washer/Drier Recommendations

I had a very expensive LG front loader. It was the worst washing machine I've ever tried.

Now we have a Maytag Bravo XL he top loader (I hope I got the name right). It is my favorite washing machine.

I have an LG set that I adore. It is the Wave series washer and matching dryer. It is an HE TL and it has an extra water feature, can add up to two extra rinses with the push of a button and it can just do a rinse only for the pre-rinse. It is awesome for diapers and regular laundry.

Re: Washer/Drier Recommendations

I have GE front loader with steam & E wash & dry. I love it with no stinkies in cotton, hemp & microfiber to date with my 6 month old. I never have to add extra water. I just do a speed wash, then wash with soap, steam assist, & extra R, then speed wash no soap. Even with this many cycles it uses about the same amount of h2o as top loaders but I still save on all the other loads I do a week.

We ended up get an LG waveforce toploader, and matching dryer ! I have had it for a few days, and love it so far. I am still experimenting with all the settings, and trying to find what works best for my diapers. Can you share what your wash routine is with your LG waveforce?
