Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
I would call and ask for clarification, maybe there is something in your medical history that made him say that, or maybe it's just on the safe side or something.

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
I had an early m/c at 5 weeks, honestly if I hadn't been TTC and gotten a BFP, I wouldn't have even known I was having a m/c, it was like a heavy period. I didn't wait, and wasn't told to, and got pregnant with my DS on the following cycle.
I'm so sorry for your loss!

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
I was told I could start trying immediately. I didn't. I did wait a cycle but even waiting one cycle I was still devastated when it didn't happen. I had a lot of anxiety and emotional baggage right around that time. I'm happy I waited, because for me, it allowed me to process the loss, cherish that short pregnancy, and get back to a good frame of mind.
Did you have blood work done? Maybe your numbers weren't coming down fast enough?

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
I had a miscarriage at around 5 weeks in September. I was told to waiti at least a cycle to try again. I had maybe 2 days of less than average bleeding, no physical pain and DH and I were emotionally okay with trying again so we did. I got my BFP with this one about 4 weeks later.

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
Doctors have to give you the most conservative advice ... Your chances of the hormones not being quite right, and having another very very early miscarriage, are likely to be a bit higher if you don't wait.
That being said, it's entirely possible it would be fine. The question probably is how OK you would be if you had another early loss? Would you kick yourself for not having waited, or would you move past it pretty easily?

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
Thought I'd update y'all... ended up getting pregnant immediately after! We weren't exactly trying but it happened. Saw a heartbeat today so hopefully that is a good sign. Slightly nervous because I found out I am hypothyroid (wondering if that caused the last one) but going on meds for it. We'll see... Thanks so much for all the responses!!

Re: Considering ignoring doc's orders...
Hugs mama and I am so sorry for your loss. I have been there so many times! I am now 32 weeks with a rainbow baby. I had a 9 weeks loss the "cycle" before I conceived this little man. I was advised to wait as well, but I was ready to get pregnant. I was still healing...but I knew waiting was just going to prolong the process. Hugs mama in your decision.
