I upgraded from the original orbit stroller to the G2 when I had my second daughter because I wanted the Sidekick for my first daughter. I'm thinking of selling my original Orbit now that my baby has moved out of the infant carrier. I'm wondering how critical it is to include a car base.
I would be selling (all G1): Stroller w/cargo pod Toddler stroller seat w/bag Stroller rain shield 2 extra sets of infant carrier padding, some of it new Infant carrier I think I have extra wheels too Would it be weird to not include a base for the car? I COULD because we have two. We RARELY put my daughter's seat in my husband's car. Do you think I would do better listing items separately? Do you think I should list a price that already includes the shipping? Do you think I should set a shipping rate or make it actual? This stuff is heavy & bulky! I don't have the original boxes but I think I have the boxes my G2 came in. Thanks, this boggles my brain, but the carrier doesn't expire until 2014 & I'd love to get some money back out of it.

Hi mama. Did you know that Consumer Reports rated the original Orbit a Don't Buy? I only bring this up so you consider not passing on to another baby for this serious safety reason.

Re: Opinions please?
I am going to bet that if someone was buying a set that expensive, they wouldn't buy it without a base unless is was SUPER cheap. People buying a whole set want to use it right away.

I would include the base for sure. And unless it's been recalled, I would feel fine selling it. The issue didn't occur with national testing and not a single incident has ever been reported.

Re: Opinions please?
Yeah, Consumer Reports has known flaws in their testing and even had to retract an entire report on their infant seat testing. I'd sell(with a base) and be fine with it.

I have had mine since 2009 and I never had a problem with seat separation. In fact, given what I know of how that seat functions, the only ways I can think of that happening are 1) the person using it didn't read the instructions and didn't wait for the "click" or check that it snapped in, or 2)the one they were testing was defective. My money is on the first one. |

Re: Opinions please?
That's how I feel about it. It isn't an issue if you snap it in properly, and that is true of all snap in seats out there.

Re: Opinions please?
I agree, jackyl08. I have always wanted Consumer Reports to be perfect and impartial, but I have seen errors and sometimes evidence of bias. Even what they say has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Re: Opinions please?
Thank you, everyone. I guess I have to decide if I am willing to let that base go or not. :-)
