Suuuure.....we all know it's really because you only bother to check one foot every few months...so by the time you check the other foot's size, it's already grown.

I think you're giving yourself too much credit. In case you hadn't noticed, no one has their little feelers hurt by your opinion, we're just laughing because YOU'RE WRONG! If you want to be judgemental and act like you know it all, that's totally fine, but it's also fine for the rest of us to have a good time laughing at what you don't know. You're quite adament about this, I wonder if you had a shoe trauma in your childhood??

Technically yes, but growth can occur overnight. Growth spurts occur. In my example, I realize that my son didn't "skip" a size but rather grew quickly enough that we didn't get shoes to hit each interval.

I am not arguing that point though. I am telling you that your "sadness" for the welfare of my children is misplaced. Yes, in a perfect world, I would check height/weight/measurements regularly. But that is not practical. My 13 year old has the ability to communicate his needs to me. As does my 11 year old. I will not check with them daily or even weekly to see if they have outgrown any of their current shoes and/or apparel.

What we need is a foot fairy, to measure our kids feet every night while they are sleeping!

Re: Thrifty kids shoes?

Well, I always wanted my child to use my ipad as a trampoline. The footfairy app is the perfect excuse!
