If this works ... I'll be excited!
I had a little sewing time tonight and I have been wanting to try this for awhile. The serged that I borrowed is not user friendly so I went with just the regular sewing machine.
I took a receiving blanket on one side and cut a osocozy flat in half for the other side. Sewed them together ![]() cut off those darn hemmed bumps ![]() Pad folded into a Grovia cover on the smallest rise setting ![]() folded in fourths to create 10 layers of absorbency (flannel on one side, cotton on the other) ![]() Really really trim! ![]() Plan to see how it stays together in the wash! If it works, I will make a bunch to use on baby #2! Yeah - wish me luck

I am not sure from the photos, but you will need to at least run a zigzag stitch over the edges if they are not serged or turned/topstitched. Otherwise they will start fraying after the first wash.

Re: If this works ... I'll be excited!
Yup, just run a zig zag stitch around the edge unless its turned and top stitched, both flannel and the Birdseye will fray at the edges a lot. You can also cut the edges with pinking shears.
