Question FFing install question

When installing a FFing seat (harnessed, not booster) does there have to be a headrest? Or is that only with boosters? I swear I read about headrests on here somewhere but I can't remember. We're getting top tether anchors for my car and not sure if I should bother getting one for the center seat because only the sides have headrests. TIA!

Re: FFing install question

I can only think of one seat that requires a vehicle's head rest (safety 1st? apex). I think it's fine to have them off unless the car seat's manual says it's needed.
I've found that sometimes, with some seats in some vehicles, I have to remove the headrest to get the car seat flush with the vehicle's seat, kwim?

Re: FFing install question

Read the car seat manual just to be sure. As far as tether anchors, I'd just get them one at a time for whatever spots you need the anchor at the time.

Re: FFing install question

our seats do not require the head rests, in fact we had to remove one to get a proper instal on ODS FF seat. I want to say the only time you have to have headrests is when you have a backless booster (but someone please correct me if im wrong)

i would read through your vehicles manual as well as the car seat manual to be 100% though.

as far as the tethers, i would get them installed as needed if that is at all possible

Thanks! I read the manual and couldn't find anything. DH is a technician and ordering the anchors so I figured we'd just put all 3 in now, so that when we have #2 (hopefully in the near future) I can rearrange seats as needed.
