I been using Original Tide liquid (to the 1 line)for the past 6 years with no ill effects. We use free and clear detergent (the generic tide one from Costco) for the rest of our laundry because we have sensitive skin but it has never been an issue for the diapers. I always do an extra hot wash with no detergent when washing diapers though so I'm sure that is the reason we have no rashes or other issues. Our diapers are always clean and stain free this way, I wouldn't personally want to baby anything that gets pooped and peed in. Give me strong soap and lots of hot water!
