For $10, I would do it. However, we have Virgin Mobile and already pay $45 a month for the 1200 minute plan. I thought it was another $15 to turn it into a hotspot?

If you pay $25, and have to bump up to the $35 wouldn't you also have to pay the additional $15 for the hotspot, making it $50? Probably wouldn't really be worth it to you.

ETA: I just saw the post about the HTC EVO. That's what we have. Is there a way to use it as a mobile hotspot without paying the $15?! We just got an iPad and iPod touch so that would be SO awesome if we can.
