Feeding them cereal!

What do you do?

With my last daugther I was still working (and pumping) so my husband would use breastmilk and mix it in with her cereal. But with this daugther I am staying at home and have only pumped twice. She has never taken a bottle and we don't intend on her taking one. It is better from the tap!!!

So my question is, how do I go about mixing her cereal if I don't have any pumped milk? What did you do? I need some ideas, ladies!!

Thanks in advance!!

It doesn't take much...you can probably manually express enough on the fly. Some cereal can also be mixed with water or juice (once they're getting fruit). Honestly though, you don't have to give the cereal...when she's ready, just start giving her bites of whatever is practical and skip the "babyfood" altogether...WAYYY cheaper and easier that way

Hmmm I'd just forgo the cereal... or manually express a tiny bit. I decided against cereal & plan to use nanas whenever DS is ready to travel that road.

Hand expressing is really easy, I actually find it easier than pumping.
It can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it, but you can get plenty of milk out that way too

I use bottled water, and maybe a little bit of mushed fruit.

If I ever give cereal I just use tap water, I figure the small amounts of flouride would be good for him. He nurses 100 times a day so he isnt missing anything by not having BM in his cereal

Re: Feeding them cereal!

I always just pour the cereal into a container (usually a small bowl or cup) and then just squeeze the breast milk directly into the container with my hand, that way I know I get just the right amount of milk-to-powder ratio and I won't be wasting any.
