Warldorf doll hair from weir crafts?

I just bought my daughter this doll on spots. I love her hair. I want to make one for my youngest but can't afford another one. I was going to buy a kit from weir dolls but I'm wondering if they have this type of hair for sale. Do any of you know if this is the same type of hair as the doll I bought? http://www.weirdollsandcrafts.com/mo...doll-hair.html

If not where can I get this type of hair in different colors?

I'm pretty sure this is what you want.

That's exactly it. I'm just wondering if what weir has is comparable.

Re: Warldorf doll hair from weir crafts?

I don't think so...we bought yarn separate for the hair & followed one of the online tutorials...IIRC, the Weir kits included either a mohair boucle or a regular, plied worsted weight option. What you posted in the pic is a single ply, more of a thick & thin/handpsun/art yarn thing.

Looking at the Weir site, they do have a single ply worsted option now, but it's still not the same as your other baby's hair...if you want that look, you'd be well off looking on Etsy or Artfire.

No, while they have nice doll hair, they do not carry yarn that would give you that dredlock look. At the very least you want a bulky single ply, but the thick thin adds a lot of interest. I personally like doll hair that mixes several types of yarn, it wouldn't be the same, but it could look just as nice.

Our dolls have dreads like that {different colors}....I bought the yarn off etsy. There were a lot of different colorways, I'm sure you could find what you are looking for...

I got a super bulky single ply & kool-aide dyed it It's not as awesome as the thick-thin stuff, but we were going for a mama-made doll & it still came out okay.

I've never dyed anything so I'm scared. Lol. I bought the kit with out hair. I'll probably sell some diapers to buy super awesome hair. The hair is what attracts me to these dolls so I want it to be really nice.

Do you all know if 1 of these is enough for long hair on a 16" doll?
