Re: Circumcision and cloth....

It would depend on the form of circumcision. My youngest had a plastibell, which required no ointment or anything. My oldest son was a typical circumcision and we used just the gauze pad over it.

We used cloth from the start. Instead of Vaseline I mixed mostly lanolin, a little Vaseline, and Herb Pharm Trauma Oil for healing. It came right out of the diapers, lanolin is good that way.

Re: Circumcision and cloth....

I liked cloth much better from the beginning, it doesn't stick to them like the paper diaper can and did. I used vaseline with the first and I'm silly, I didn't put anything between it and the diaper! They all washed out fine. The second time I used Un Patroleum Jelly and same thing with same results. They both had the plastibell, so they didn't need too much in the way of a barrier but I did find that it made them more comfy when I used the vaseline. I also considered using unscented Cj's Butter, I think it would be a good choice and wash out well.

Re: Circumcision and cloth....

Use cjs butter instead of Vaseline!!!! I got unscented just to be safe and used cjs and little 2x2 fleece squares for a little extra protection and padding. Washed everything together with no problems!
