Question about prefolds and thirsties covers...

Do prefolds really work well with thirsties covers? I have a lot of both now and am wondering if I really need to get snappi's...or should just plan on the covers....

They will work fine tri-folded in covers but with a newborn the poop will get on the covers every time, pretty much. If you want to reuse the covers you should try out the snappi.

Re: Question about prefolds and thirsties covers...

I love our snappis and use those almost exclusively. Prefolds do fit in thirsties very nicely though so sometimes I just fold the diaper and put it in. This works fine for just wet diapers but I have experienced blow outs with this method.

Snappis are really easy to use and pretty cheap too. I know we've gotten our money's worth with them! And I really enjoyed our thirsties. (We just outgrew the sizes we have). They're not bulky and the snaps are my favorite cover closures. Sounds like you have a good setup!

btw it may depend on your prefolds if you have to fold them down or not. What brand prefolds and what size cover?

Totally. Very rarely had poop escape the diaper. The jelly-roll easily contained most EBF poop.
