What have you found to be the best diaper bag alternative... e.g. using something that isn't officially a diaper bag for carrying diapers and accessories when you are out of the house? I bought a diaper bag the other day, and I'm going to return it. I just can't find one I'm happy with. They are either too big, too small, not enough/the right kind of storage, cheaply made, awkward/heavy, etc.
I think I would like some kind of large container/organizer to keep an abundant supply of stuff handy in my car, and then a medium-ish/smaller bag that I can take into stores, the park, etc that will hold a few cloth diapers, wetbag, wipes, snacks and water for my older child, change of clothes for both kiddos, my wallet, sunglasses, my personal stuff, etc.

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
I think just a nice, big tote with pockets or a backpack. Which ever you're more comfortable carrying.

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
I shove a diaper and some pants in my purse. I leave all the main stuff in the car.
Ironically I just remembered my purse is a diaper bag of sorts, the Ju Ju Be Be Small

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
I rotate between an LL Bean backpack (I think it's the Deluxe one b/c it has two main compartments and a smaller one) and an LL Bean Medium Boat and Tote. I have a small wristlet that I yank out when just going into the grocery store.

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
I love our Vera Bradley backpack. Tons of cute prints, washable, and allows me to be handsfree.

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
When we were still in CDs I would switch between a Vera Bradley diaper bag and a custom Pajamma Gramma bag.

I love Timbuk2 messenger bags and totes as diaper bags.

Re: Diaper Bag Alternatives?
I'm just using a regular tote bag that is easy to toss in the washing machine if it needs it. I think it was $10 at Old Navy or Target. I'm not a fan of diaper bags.
