I can't remember, it is a religious school right? I know my friend whose kids have some ADD like tendencies had to switch to public school because the teachers were more interested in enforcing proper behavior than helping her kids learn.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday

I agree with Jess...Jack's school really isn't interesting in helping him resolve the issues he has. Issuing punishment after punishment isn't going to help him learn not to do the behaviour that gets him the punishment in the first place.

They really are only interested in getting the problem (Jack) out of the way so they dont have to deal with the problem (his behaviour that gets him punished) and still cashing in on the money.

I'm sorry but I'd get him out of there.

We had a similar issue with Shannon in her first kindergarten...she had dollhouse BAN for a solid month! They never worked with her to stop the behaviour that they didn't want.

We changed kindergartens and she did much better. They worked with her and helped her to control her behaviour. Not by dishing out punishments but by reminders or how to behave and then issuing warnings...which then went to the next step which was exclusion for a short time till she'd gotten a grip of herself again.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday

Shannon is doing some maths work on the computer to the level of Real school now. To see what kind of a grade she'd get.

First off we worked with her a bit but then I said she has to be able to do it without a single word of help from us because when she's doing this I still have 2 other school kids and a crazy toddler running around. She has to work on her own...no teacher is going to sit next to her and help her understand the question either. It's all about working alone in Real school.
