Hate going to other peoples' homes?

Anyone else get a little wiggy when visiting someone else's house? It didnt used to bother me, then I transitioned to minimalism and now it drives me crazy to go to someones house and see a bunch of stuff on the counters, even people wiith what I consider clean homes.
Anyone else?

Re: Hate going to other peoples' homes?

My friend asked me to come help her deep clean and organize her house. I'm happy to! I love that kind of project. But, she is super messy, disorganized and has waayyy to many clothes. I am worried that I'm going to look at her mess and just want to get rid of it all and she's gonna think I'm crazy
How else do you clean and organize?!!

You want her to be making as many of the decisions as possible. You don't want her mad at you for throwing out all her precious possessions, and if she doesn't own the process she'll just clutter it up again. One thing that can help though, is having a checklist ahead of time of things she agrees you can toss. Say if it is: stained, torn, broken, moldy, wrong size, a duplicate, or a battery powered toy. Good luck!

Yup. Was just at a friends. They had a one-month old and had moved recently, so I wasn't judging her disorganization, but their playroom had at least a dozen wardrobe sized boxes. A few had been opened and dumped. I saw way more than 27 dolls. (For two girls age 8 and 10). I probably could have counted hundreds of dolls and stuffies alone. I actually got giddy thinking about how much fun it would be to purge

Re: Hate going to other peoples' homes?

Haha YES! Unless it's the few who have much simpler, cleaner, more organised homes than me, usually the ones who have new homes, my house is old and no matter how organised and clean it is it doesn't always look super fantastic.
