Well you should get an individual report on Rosie as well.

Do they usually send those out, or do you have to ask for them?

In NM it is not available until the fall because we take the test in April and it takes that long to get the results. Here we hand them out so we can explain it to the parents.

Re: Basically it's Monday

Hi everyone!

Home from: Work, OT, Shopping for coffee and yoghurt, and the Doctors for my prescription.

I got my "report card" today from my boss. He went though it with me...but I wont bore you with all the details.

I got a 1.7

I made him a Streusel on Streusel cake...which is basically just the crumble bit of a Streusel cake. He loved it!

Story goes...

Me: What cake shall I make for Monday?
Him: Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.
Me: That's too much.
Him: You know what I really love...Streusel kuchen. But my favourite bit is the streusel. Better would be Streusel on Streusel. No cake at all, just the streusel.

So I made it this morning before work. I wasn't sure if it'd work but it did...then I was nervous it'd get smashed on the way to work; it didn't.

He laughed and said it's great. He said he's going to eat a bit everyday.

NM. I just read they will mail them to us eventually. In Texas, all the testing Rosie had to do was just for school ranking purposes so they didn't send individual results. However, since she was the only Asian in the entire grade it was pretty easy to extrapolate her results.

Finished shoveling a parking spot in the driveway. It is extra sunny right now so I didn't have to use the rake this time. There was only 1/2" of solid ice under the snow which would break when I stamped my foot or walked on it. I am SO glad there is no school tomorrow, I could sleep for days.

Cheryl the individual results also don't matter until the 3rd grade. The state and feds dont care about test results before 3rd grade.

Re: Basically it's Monday

Heiner has just left to go to Parent's evening in Shannon's school. Poor chap. BK for our dinner tonight.

Shannon is grumpy because I told her she has to empty all the lunch boxes...because she left her lunch box in Hort.

I just started (6:30pm) the yoghurt maker. If I let it run for 12 hours I can put it in the fridge when I get up in the morning and have yummy yoghurt with my muesli for breakfast.

Well, that's not very smart. By then, if they are failing, it's a hard road to get them back to speed. but I suppose they have other ways to evaluate the younger kids' learning.

Go Janine! I am so scared of making my own yogurt. I fear I would poison us all.

Speaking of yogurt, I just read an article about the evils aspartame and dairy. Apparently if you consume a lot of dairy at once, and thus greatly change the Ph of your stomach, then consume aspartame the world ends. Something about all the bad crap in it doesn't get digested/processed at all and goes straight in the bloodstream. In high doses causes grand mal seizures in monkeys. Great. Right when I had a big bowl of greek yogurt for breakfast and have been cooling off from shoveling fits all morning with diet coke breaks. If I stop posting, you will know why.

OMG. I may die anyway from the shoveling.

Making waffles for dinner. Alton Brown recipe. And I did buy WW flour at TJ, so it is a mix of that and AP. Plus we have a ton of strawberries from Costco that need eating up.
