When did your child(ren) stop

Talking naps? How old? What did bedtime and wake up time look like? How did bedtime get adjusted for the lack of napping? I'm thinking DD is trying to cut out naps and I'm not ready!

Re: When did your child(ren) stop

My youngest just a bit over 2 (almost 26 months) and he doesn't nap anymore unless he's in the car. It's been about a month now that I haven't pushed it.

DD can survive now at 4 without a nap although sometimes I make her take one anyway. Her bedtime really hasn't changed. On days where she has been really busy sometimes she will fall asleep on her own watching tv but not too often. I can get her down at 8:30 or she can stay awake...she loves to try to be a night owl lol

Re: When did your child(ren) stop

my boys were 3 when they stopped every day naps. Then it went to occasionally, once or twice a week.. Nights were rough for a few weeks till everyone adjusted. Bed time moved up 2 hours.

DS2 was horrible. He would take a nap and then be up till 10 or later. Once we cut out naps he started going to bed between 8 and 8:30.

Dd1 stopped napping at 22mos. Dd2 is 5.5yrs and just recently stopped taking naps in the last couple months. She will still nap once or twice a wk. They have always woken up b/t 6:30-7am. Quiet time is 1.5- 2hrs usually b/t 12-1:30/2pm bedtime was 6:30 until about this time last yr, then pushed to 7pm over the past summer and now closer to 7:30. They are now 8 and 5.5. Dd2 joined dd1 in this schedule at 10mos old.

My daughter stopped at 18m. It was the cherry on top of my nightmare cake.

My son is 20m though and shows no sign of stopping naps. It does seem to be up to the individual.

Eta my daughter took to sttn 12 hours though and that was nice. 10-10.

Re: When did your child(ren) stop

DD1 quit napping around age 3. Her bedtime moved up about 30 minutes and she started sleeping in another 30 min to an hour.

DD2 is still napping at 26 months.

Re: When did your child(ren) stop

DS just turned three in February and is starting to drop his nap. He doesn't seem to need it at noon anymore and tends to nap at 2 or 3 instead. He skips it entirely 1-2 days a week. If we play hard in the morning, though, he's still good for a 3 hour nap.
