Speaking of food, we're having philly steak sammies, oven fries, and steamed veggie of some sort. I'm happy for a low-maintenance dinner with easy cleanup

Re: Basically it's Thursday

Well after having to throw out this morning's bread, and the hot-dog rolls, I'm really pleased with the bread I made tonight.

Recipe was from the bread machine but mixed in the KA. I proved it on a little stool on Shannon's bunk bed which is next to the chimney...there was an opening there for our fire but we took it out. It's nice and warm there so I put the bread there to prove. Worked great.

I knocked it back, formed it, and put it in the bread pan. I proved it the second time in the living room on the radiator. Sitting right on it...it wasn't really hot. Enough to get the bread going but not to kill it. I was worried but it seemed ok and I checked it often.

This time I was really unsure of the baking times. My searching online didn't bring me much help so I worked out something and tried it.

I baked it at 200C for 10 minutes and then 20 minutes at 180c

I think I could probably bake it at 18o-190C for 30-35 minutes and it'd be fine too.

And you can see it's a nice square slice of bread.

I'm looking forward to these arriving...On Tuesday our smallest serving dish chipped badly. It was one of two that we have. The other broke a long time ago.

I like these because they dont have a handle on the top you are really getting 8 serving dishes. I love putting dinner on the table in serving dishes. It's just a little thing I have. I know it's easier to serve on the plate in the kitchen but I still really like doing it this way.

Those look great, Janine! I love that you can use the lids as dishes as well!

Bread looks outstanding as well

Re: Basically it's Thursday

Had to make a quick run up to the charter school to deal with a bit of a contract emergency. Came home to dinner being finished and MH outside playing with the neighbor's puppies in the backyard. They are cute.
