formally saying hi
I have randomly posted before but wanting to get more active. I have a 7ds 5dd and 1 dd. We homeschooled up until nov 1 when we moved 8 hrs to a tiny "village" and hs is not too common. Between moving, dh field change, lack of hs support locally we opted to put the kids in ps. Ds in 2 and dd goes to district prek. It has been a blessing in some ways due to some things that have happened but we really miss them home, the flexibility (esp with dh job) and all the other perks. We are almost positive we will be bringing them home next yr. So I'm already back in hs mi ndset (never really left!). We actually have more flexibility in a budget now so I can buy curriculum! Never done that before due to $$! It will make things so much easier
anyways hi and if you see me posting I'm not a complete stranger!

Re: formally saying hi
Hi there and welcome to the forum!
I am glad things are working out well for your family and that you are considering HSing next yr. I love to try to spend as little as possible on homeschooling. There are so many different options for doing this inexpensively. What curriculums are you looking at? We are a family of 6. I have 4 DDs who are 12, 11, 8 and 4.5 yrs old. We don't use a curriculum, we just do our own thing. My girls read, listen to audio books, draw, color, write letters and write in their journals. Looking forward to hearing more from you in the future! |

Re: formally saying hi
We've been using Story of the World this year and my kids love it. You could definitely use it with a third grader. I will say I'm partial to it also because we are currently classically home educating our kids.
