I think at this stage best would be to talk to the school. They'd know his name and have contact details. They could call him and find out what's what.

Re: TGIF Basic Mamas!

Well I've had a horrible day.

First off...Derry has been diagnosed with scoliosis. She needs new insoles, and she has 6xPT...after that she has to go back to the doctor to see if it 's helped at all. If not she'll need to be fitted for a brace.

After that I got to work to discover that the summer ice cream had been delivered...turns out it wasn't all of it after all...and so the new guy had me rearranging all of the ice cream freezers (there are 4) to fit in the new items.

It was impossible! I had no idea if there stuff was meant to be one way or the other, or in one row or more. I was told to just put it in according to the plan...but the plan is rubbish and there are no details. And when half the stuff is missing it's just crazy to even start the job. I dont know if the stuff that is missing is going to fit in the gaps I was leaving...Ugh!

I was a wreak...I kept trying to do the work but I couldn't. I just couldn't see how it was supposed to fit. There were SO MANY ITEMS in each freezer. I got upset and that never helps.

So then because I was at work doing all of that I missed out on going to the circus with Heiner, the kids, and Hort.

...and if they'd just looked at the delivery note they would have seen it's not worth messing with....and then if they'd looked in the work folder they'd have seen it's not even meant to be for sale until CW18.

It's been a bad day

Re: TGIF Basic Mamas!

Ugh Jess. At this school, if you pay your PTO dues, you get a school directory. But every family gets to choose what info to put in there, so it's possible that there could be NO info or outdated info in there. And no one can take another kid home or do anything other what they do every day without a signed note from the parents. They actually give everyone a special notepad of forms that have a place to check off things like I will pick up at X time, kid will ride different bus home with <name>, in afterschool activity Y, etc. So all the kids know they can't deviate from the norm without the "yellow note", LOL.

That being said, I am sure there are parents that think it's ok to leave a 9yo alone/latchkey. I know I was latchkey at that age. I know my kids aren't ready, and there's no one here on my street home consistently like there were when I was 9 anyway. But in two years Rosie will be in "middle school" at 5th grade, and she will walk home and be theoretically latchkey, LOL.

No snow here. Bright sunny day with rapidly melting snow.

Got my fabric on the furniture. Hung my series of prints. This dump is starting to look respectable .

It really was.

I talked to the guy who really should have organised himself to help me, or tell someone else to help me, after I clocked off. He agreed it was a rough day on both sides. He wasn't sore at me for getting upset and I said I wasn't annoyed at him for not helping when I'd asked for it....I'm not too sure I feel like that but what can you do? I only have a mini job, and it's a job anyone can do.
