Re: August 2013 Weekly Chat ~ March 10-16

@Jennifer- If I were being totally frivolous, I'd get a Volvo xc90 or Buick enclave. If I were being practical, a Mazda5.

My neighbor has an Mazda5. I am not impressed with it. I think a Prius has more space, though I know in OR they charge you more for those.

Volvo I would be totally over! I am thinking that may need to be DH's next car, even if we have to get one used.

I'm getting concerned about my baby. I am still only feeling very sporadic movements and I can't feel them from the outside. I have been able to feel baby for 4-5 weeks but it has always been sporadic (ie I felt nothing yesterday but have felt a few kicks this morning). Normal? I think so but I can't remember how it was w/DS.

Very normal Lynn, think of it like most people don't even start feeling the babe until 20-22 weeks even, and it'll be a slow increase of movement ( and then decrease as they run out of space!)

I am due aug 1st and I really only started feeling kicks last week. On occasion i can feel one from the outside, but only if it is just right. I know I have an anterior placenta though.

I am less concerned with room and mor concerned with not being crammed 3 across the back seat lol. I will wind up with a used car. If I decide that I don't mind 3x in the back seat, I think I want a Ford Edge or Honda crv. Otherwise, one of the others stands... Or maybe a pilot or *cringe* minivan.

Thanks for the reassurance! I know I didn't feel DS until around this point and that his movements weren't strong to me until late 2nd tri or early 3rd. Then they were really strong and big!! I know I'll feel better after seeing LO on u/s later this week.

Oops! I loved it for before kids and it has been fine for one. But traveling in it is less than ideal now as we are packed in pretty tight with DS's stuff. I'm looking at used Honda minivans even though DH keeps cringing at owning a minivan. I don't think they're that cool but they are nice and will best meet our needs for this phase of our lives. I like the sliding doors w/remote in particular. And the mileage is quite a bit better than SUVs get plus I'm short and I think it will be easier to get kids in and out than an SUV.
