June's birth story

Ok, I finally have time to post my birth story. I was feeling like she was never going to come and was so tired of constant BH's. Saturday night we ate dinner at the neighbor's and literally as I was taking the last bite I had a painful contraction. Within 15 mintues I was in full blown labor. By the time we walked across the street the contractions were only 2.5 minutes apart. I stayed at home for about an hour but then the Dr. said go to the hopsital. I couldn't even make it from the car to the door without a contraction. I had to sit on my birthing ball in the parking lot and the security guard came running out with a wheelchair. I ended up with an epidural at 7 cm, which turned out to be a good decision when it came time to push. I tore pretty bad with such as big baby. All in all it was great 6 hours of labor with only 45 minutes of pushing. We came home in 24 hours and things have been smooth at home. My mom has been taking care of Avery, who loves her little sister. Sometimes she ignores me but kisses all over June. June is a much better sleeper than Avery ever was and more laid back. She is also a champion nurser. I actually feel rested and relaxed this time around. I just don't know when I will be able to sit comfortably again.

What a sweet baby! Congratulations!

I'm sorry about your tear - it may be a WHILE before you can sit comfy again! It took me about two months to fully heal from my 3rd degree - it was a couple weeks before I could sit without a pillow under me.

Re: June's birth story

Congratulations! You should find out how big her head was since that's what you really feel. To give you a comparison, my DDs both had 13 inch heads, which I think is dead average. Your older daughter is beautiful, by the way, and looks so proud holding her sister.
