I have never heard of this either! The homemade deodorant I was using doesn't prevent sweating either, so that's no problem.

Re: Deodorant

When I was researching deodorant alternatives, I actually saw a number of people using milk of magnesia. There were some drawbacks mentioned that I mostly can't remember (some people thought something in it could be toxic, and one person got laxative effects just from application). But if I'd had some on hand, I would have tried it.

A lot of people use the stronger diaper rash creams as deodorant (drawback: petroleum base). That was one of the things that prompted me to look at using zinc oxide in mine (zinc has the benefit of lasting in your pores a really long time, so people who sweat/smell very little often only have to apply a zinc-based deodorant once every 3-5 days).

I just had to share.
I bought mineral salt deodorant:
http://store.thecrystal.com/crystal-...z-rock-p9.aspx

Which I found at whole foods. I've been using it for about a week and love it! It doesn't burn after shaving and it seems to be working really well.
The packaging also says it lasts a year. $7 a year isn't bad

I have had good luck with Tropical Traditions roll on. Doesn't irritate after shaving. I only order from them when the have free shipping, it does happen often though! They have other awesome products as well.

I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and used need Rx deodorant in high school. It's better now but I need to use the "clinical strength" deodorant like Secret or Dove. Any natural recipes to help me?

Re: Deodorant

Kay, I'm in the same boat. I actually developed my own complex recipe and may start selling it here. I have 4 trial sticks out to DS members and another to a friend. Initial feedback is positive. Depending on what they tell me after a month of use, I may buy some more twist ups to make more.
