Will an ergo with insert be to hot?

For a newborn? We will be having a early/mid June baby...I have a sleepy wrap and an ergo. I plan on using both. Will they be to warm?

Depends on you and your baby (and the weather, obviously). DH is like a furnace and gets really sweaty when BWing, but I never really had a problem even in summertime.

When it's really super hot, keep baby in a diaper only and wear the SleepyWrap as a shirt. It's quite comfortable.

i had an early july baby last summer and never got the insert, it was wayyyy too hot. i either used a gauze wrap or the ergo with a rolled up blanket and she fit perfectly and was not too hot!

All my kids but one are summer babies, and I used the ergo anyway...they'd always be curled up sleeping in it and sweaty, but I figured it was better for them to be warm against me than not be with me, since that's what I have to carry them around in. And I'm just talking about when we went on walks outside...inside we were fine.

I used a gauze wrap b/c our Ergo was too hot. I think our wrap was off of etsy by CeliaScreams. Not sure if she's in business anymore. Ended up selling our Ergo and going with a Boba, ultimately b/c I always had a sweaty back/front in the Ergo.

You can also wrap an ice pack (or two!) in a prefold or a small towel and tuck between you and baby to help keep things cool. If that's too much, make a small pouch (4x4 max!), fill with uncooked rice, and freeze. Just be sure to keep a layer of cloth between anything frozen and skin.

I might try this with DH and DD too..

DD was a mid September baby, we were sweating in the thing even late fall

I plan on just using swaddle blankets this time

I used my Ergo in FL walking 6 miles a day! It was hot but it worked!
