Re: Do you have a rocking chair?

We used to have a glider that I hated but it was a lifesaver with my oldest two. It was not made well so we replaced it with a La-z-boy rocking recliner shortly after DS2 was born and it is AWESOME. Everyone loves it. Both DH and I have slept in it when sick, the kids love to sit in it and both the 6 and 3 year old can fit at the same time. DH puts the baby to sleep in it all the time.

I have a plain wooden one and a leather recliner. The wooden one just isn't comfortable, especially for nursing. I hardly used it. It was hand carved locally, so it is a pretty piece of furniture that I will always keep.

The leather recliner, however, is awesome. I'm nursing my LO in it right now. Most comfortable seat in the house

I have a cheap glider from Walmart and a rocking recliner that is pat of our living room set. I use the glider or rocker usually once a day when he gets really fussy, but for the most part I sit on the couch. It's just more comfortable in general and i can spread out with all of my stuff.

Re: Do you have a rocking chair?

I like a glider because I find it stays in place, the old rockers tend to slowly move backwards as you rock. And yes, padded. You want it nice and comfy. If you have the money those big upholstered chair rockers that you can curl up in look pretty nice but that wasn't in our budget. If money is tight you can usually find tons second hand in great condition.

I have a glider. I love it and so does my dad. My dad wants me to give him the glider when I'm done. It's padded.

Re: Do you have a rocking chair?

When planning for DD I viewed a glider or rocker as an "extra," but OMG...I don't know how we would have survived those first 6 months without it! It really was a necessity for us. I prefer a glider over the plain rocking chair. I was in that sucker for hours on end and a plain wooden rocker just isn't comfy enough for me.

Yes, exactly! We got ours free from a friend, and used it for 5 years and two kids.

Good point. I forgot they do that. That's another reason I don't use mine as often as I'd like.

I had a lazyboy rocker recliner when my kids were babies. We got it secondhand, loved it, and used it until it fell apart. Now that I'm expecting again I desperately want another before baby comes.

We have a glider too and it is wonderful. We would not have survived with DS1 without it!
